Providence Art Club Wedding

Lauren & Alex

Anytime a couple reaches out to me and they are hosting a wedding at a museum or an art club, I immediately know we will be a perfect match. Lauren and Alex found me through a mutual connection. I was so excited for their wedding leading up to the big day because I knew it would be a wonderfully personal, laid-back affair, set against the amazing Providence Art Club. It was truly a modern day Renaissance. To tie in with the art theme the couple also wanted to emphasize a garden theme by having beautiful greenery & florals to compliment the elegant art.

Lauren got ready at the Hotel Providence with the help of her mother Carol, sister Katie, mother-in-law Patti, Aunt Linda, and her niece. Jane Sincere & Elvi GG Hair and Makeup Studio did a lovely job on Lauren’s stunning makeup and effortlessly chic hair (I love a perfect bun)! Her niece was absolutely adorable! She made the most beautiful and energetic flower girl.

As Lauren was getting ready, I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful gold bracelet that she was wearing. She borrowed it from her mother, and her earrings were a gift from her Aunt Linda.

While Alex was getting ready, he had the help and company of his brother Andrew and their father Alfredo. Alex’s grandfather was there too in a special way, since he was wearing his grandfather’s cufflinks for his big day.

Lauren and Alex decided to have a first look, and met on the steps of the beautiful church across the street. They were all smiles as soon as their eyes met and their arms embraced.

I love an intimate bridal party. Lauren had her sister Katie as her Maid of Honor and Alex had his brother Andrew, who served in the coast guard, as his best man. These siblings took stunning portraits together in their elegant attire.

There were so many pre-ceremony emotions and joy in the air during our portraits. It was so fun to tie in these candid portraits along with our formal ones. I absolutely love Lauren’s smile and excitement here.

There were many fun textures and patterns from the colorful wood & brick outside the Providence art club, to the bold colors in the paintings that hung inside. These settings paired with the couples playful smiles, enthusiasm and love was a delight to capture.

The flower girl and ring bearer made quite the cute duo!  The garden and art theme continued through the decor for Lauren & Alex’s reception. Beautiful ivory, peach and navy blues were accented with lush green leaves, florals, and artworks. The couple also had a lovely display of vintage family photographs to show how important family is to them.

The ceremony and reception were held at The Providence Art Club, and everything was beautiful and scenic. Lauren’s friend, Abby, was playing the harp for the ceremony, which was so meaningful and heartfelt. I loved capturing their friends and family have such an amazing time celebrating the couple.

I loved being able to have my associate photographer capture an image of Lauren & Alex from above, paired with my image on eye level. Their laughter and happiness was absolutely radiating as they walked away together, finally as husband and wife.

We were able to escape down a little brick alley for them to have a private moment to catch their breath and really soak in this new chapter of their lives together before the big reception. Then, the cocktail hour started off with oysters and touching toasts.

I love how Lauren & Alex took their own spin on a traditional wedding cake – instead they had a variety of delicious donuts from Knead Doughnuts. The night ended with a sweet first dance and many laughs that filled the dance floor as the city lights illuminated the beginning of this new lifelong love story.
