Though this post is a little overdue, it was lovely to go through these images and revisit my trip to Los Angeles. Steve and I went to California for a dear friends wedding, and I wanted to give him a mini tour of Los Angeles and some of the surrounding locations. First we went to Laguna Beach and stayed at the Casa Laguna, an amazing B&B on the coast of California. We only wished we could have spent more time there.
I love birds of paradise. I think they are such a an amazingly smart plant!
It was late fall during out trip, so compared to the cold back east, it was a dream.
Each morning we went to Victoria Beach. Because of the time change, we would wake up for the sunrise and do a bootcamp workout and run back and forth on the 1/4 mile beach.
And my daring man to give you a sense of the size of the wall.
When we had arrived at the airport, our cheap rental car wasn’t available. They only had an escalade and with Steve’s persuasion we were upgraded for free. I think we were in the right place to be driving that car, but it’s way too big if you ask me! Steve did an excellent job of parking on and driving through the intimidating hills of Laguna.
During our stay in Laguna, we also visited Steve’s former co-worker and her new baby Colette at Newport Beach. It was so good to see friends during our trip, and to have someone show us the local spots.
Next on our voyage was an overnight stay in West Hollywood. I knew that Hollywood wouldn’t exactly be Steve’s scene, but I wanted him to see the quintessential spots, so I gave him a driving tour. We stayed at the beautiful Mondian Hotel that had amazing views of the city and it’s own unique design features.
There’s my handsome man at The Ivy, where we met some friends and enjoyed lunch. It’s a very interesting spot, with plenty of TMZ trucks outside. I am pretty sure they were trying to spot us.
After Los Angeles, we headed out into the desert for the wedding in Palm Springs. This was one of my absolute favorite parts of the trip. It’s amazing that the desert can be so close to other places that are so different. The resort that we stayed at was stunning and we only wish we had more time there.
Before our red eye flight home, we spent our day beach hopping from Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach. It was an amazing trip, and I can’t wait to explore more parts of California when I return.
