Flashmob Proposal

It is not every day that one of your friends is proposing with a flash mob, nor is it every day you are hired to photograph it! This was one of my most exciting engagement/proposal sessions I’ve ever photographed, for the obvious reason but also because I am over the moon happy for my friend Kaylee and her fiancé Chimia. When Kaylee called me and told me about her plans to propose to Chimia in Boston with a flash mob, I thought it was the coolest idea. What says ‘I love you’ more than hundreds of  people dancing in sync to Bruno Mars ‘I think I Wanna Marry You.’ If you’ve never seen a flash mob, I can tell you it’s incredibly exciting to watch it happen. Obviously my focus was on Kaylee and her fiancé instead of watching the flashmob itself, but to see the crowd gather for such a special occasion was amazing. Kaylee had planned the day perfectly. Chimia had no idea that Kaylee had in store for her and was in complete shock. After the flashmob, we walked around Boston Common and photographed them as a newly engaged couple!

Halfway through the song, Kaylee jumped right in with the rest of the flashmob and started dancing, too.

I love the look on Chimia’s face in the third picture, and also the reaction of the crowd!

They take their shoes seriously! How cute are these furry boots and sneakers?
